A script-to-screen production company for female-driven genre film and television

Lee Marshall (she/her) is a filmmaker and third-culture kid from Canada who grew up in the Philippines, Nepal and Pakistan. She celebrates misfits, outsiders and interlopers in genre storytelling. Her first feature film, psychological horror BLEED WITH ME (2021), which she produced and starred in, which sold to AMC’s SHUDDER.

In 2023, Lee launched Returning Productions Inc. to develop her slate of long form genre projects, which have received development support from Telefilm and Independent Production Fund/Canada Media Fund and attended TIFF Series Accelerator, Inside Out Financing Forum and Frontières Market. Her short films have been selected by SODEC and Telefilm for international markets at Clermont and Cannes, respectively, and screened at festivals across Canada like Fantasia, REGARD and Calgary.

Lee also brings over a decade of experience working in media and marketing to her producing work. She started her career as journalist at major publications before turning to marketing at a tech start-up, where she helped the company navigate from its Series A announcement to international expansion, rebrand and acquisition, while growing its user base to over 1 million in Canada and France.

Lee is a proud alumna of the Canadian Film Centre’s 2023 Norman Jewison Film Program Producers’ Lab. When she’s not writing or producing under her own banner, she is supervising producer at the CFC where she produces 25 original projects per year, including Canadian Screen Award-nominated KARUPY (2025) and films that have played TIFF, Festival du Nouveau Cinema, Whistler and beyond.
